What was involved?
Tiling a backsplash of a kitchen. It was actually for my mother's house, and my mother is very elderly. She was getting a new cooker installed and she wanted to get the entire area behind the new cooker tiled – the whole wall was just plain – and then she decided to continue on right around the counter.

How did you choose David?
He was recommended to us by a tile shop. And from when I phoned him he was terribly obliging and was going to come out very quickly to see and price the job for us.

Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to David Pivorius?
We had chosen the tiles and we kind of said we want tiles behind there and maybe across the rest of the counter.

Did David introduce new ideas?
He certainly did yeah. He did it in an entirely different way and it suits the room beautifully, so it does. He made the most of the small space, made it look kind of bigger if that were possible, but he did it very, very nicely.

How did the project run?
Extremely ... extremely reliable and as I said it was a job for my mother who is disabled and elderly and he was very, very polite with my mum, which I liked a lot. He was very clean, he lay down mats and everything. Because my mother is extremely houseproud, she wanted him to come in the backdoor and out the backdoor, but because he laid down the mats it wasn't an issue, so it made her very happy!

What was the biggest benefit to you of using David?
Neat and tidiness, efficiency and his own design idea was fantastic.

What's your favourite part now?
Well for my mum it'd be the tidiness, primarily, and the beautiful job of course. But me myself I wouldn't be as worried about those things, but I thought the way he did the job with the tiles and the way he chose to put them on was very skilful.

Would you recommend David to others?
We both would highly recommend him – a very nice person as well. Very personable.

Any tips for other people?
Well, to call David. And we certainly will use him again. I live in Meath actually myself and I have a bathroom project that I'm definitely going to call him for. He said he'd come down.

We're just delighted with the job and I wish him well. He's a very, very good tradesman.
