The work was carried out in June-July 2020. What was involved?
It was to renovate a city centre apartment, including kitchen, floors, bathroom, hallway and two bedrooms.
How did you choose TileCraft?
We sought quotes from a number of companies and Darren offered the best mix of price and responsiveness.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Darren Kearns?
Yes, we had a clear idea of how we wanted to operate.
Did Darren introduce new ideas?
Yes. As the work proceeded during the Covid-19 lockdown, he worked without any direct contact to us. This meant he needed to identify issues remotely and come up with solutions that we could only approve remotely. He was very involved therefore and we were happy with what he proposed.
How did the project run?
Despite the challenging circumstances of covid-19, Darren made it run smoothly and finished ahead of the scheduled deadline. We were very impressed with how he handed the situation.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using TileCraft?
It was the personal contact with Darren and the straightforward way in which he operates. We would have a high level of confidence that he can deliver what he says he'll do and when.
What's your favourite part now?
It feels like a completely different space and apartment now.
Would you recommend TileCraft to others?
Absolutely. We would be keen to use him again on any future renovations or works.
Any tips for other people?
Plan the job very carefully in advance but accept that there'll be plenty of unforseen issues so build in extra budget overheads to fix issues which will probably save money in the long run.
