When was the work done?
From September 2005 to March 2006. What was involved?
Karen did curtains for the sitting room, pelmets for the kitchen and reupholstered the couches in the sitting room.
How did you choose Interiors?
I saw Karen in Ireland's Homes, Interiors and Living magazine.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Karen Tennant?
I had a very strong sense of what I wanted and the colour scheme I was trying to achieve. Karen was able to take my ideas and find fabrics that matched my colour scheme.
Did Karen introduce new ideas?
She first gave me the idea of using pelmets instead of curtains in a kitchen. It's great if you just want to introduce some fabric and colour to a kitchen but don't want curtains.
How did the project run?
It's very efficient and professional. Karen and Gary work as a team. She comes in with all the fabrics and helps you choose stuff. Gary does the measuring and fitting. There's no time delays or waiting around.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Interiors?
I think the time factor - the fact that Karen can come to you with the fabrics.
And it's a one-stop-shop. she has everything - the curtain poles, the holdbacks. Whatever you say you want, Karen's going to find it.
And also, Karen is really good value. You're getting a quality product. The curtains are beautifully made. But you're not paying the astronomical prices some of the stores are charging.
What's your favourite part now?
The way all the fabrics work together in the sitting room, the colour scheme is really good. Karen really tapped into what I wanted.
Would you recommend Interiors to others?
I think I have recommended Karen to about 8 different people in the last two years! Loads of my friends had used her - it's just so convenient.
Any tips for other people?
First you need to research what you really need. Go through loads of magazines and find a look that suits you. It has to be about you because it's your home.
