When was the work done?
The work was carried out in 2011.

What was involved?
We have two little rooms side by side which we use as a meeting room. The main room got a lot of foot traffic plus wear and tear and it was in terrible condition. There was a terrible couch, a little table and very poor floor covering.

We employed Portmarnock to come in and give us a little bit of help with the design work. They sat with us, they gave us loads of advice for what would be appropriate for the floor because we would have a lot of foot traffic, what would be appropriate to sit on. They kitted it out with beautiful colours, they took away the old couch and reupholstered it. They then gave us a lovely little cupboard area for storage and for making tea and coffee. They made very harsh objects look a lot softer with lighting and with colours.

How did you choose Portmarnock Furnishings Ltd?
Somebody had recommended them to me. I rang them and asked them to come in and talk to us. They were very reasonable, they gave us lots of time, they were sensitive, to the area, and to our needs.

Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Anthony Byrne?
We had some ideas but needed a bit of their help with design work.

Did Anthony introduce new ideas?
He did, yes. They implemented a lot of ideas that we had but couldn't put into words. They sat with us and gave us loads of advice on colours and what materials would be appropriate for the floor and couch because it would get a lot of traffic.

How did the project run?
Perfect. They were reliable, professional without a doubt. They always arrived with the material when they said they would. And they saw the project through to the end – they had to get the cupboard specially made, and get a piece of glass for the top of it, so they didn’t just walk off any leave anything unfinished – they were fantastic.

What was the biggest benefit to you of using Portmarnock Furnishings Ltd?
Aside from the great work they did, they were great communicators. The professionalism and the communication mattered to me most of all. When they said they would deliver, they did deliver.

Would you recommend Portmarnock Furnishings Ltd to others?
I would recommend them without a doubt, they were great.
