When was the work done?
The first job was done in 2017. What was involved?
The first project Build Right did for me was a full renovation to a house in Foxrock. We had a new kitchen put in, insulation done in the attic, new plastering, new bedrooms, new bathroom, electrical work and re-plumbing work in a second bathroom.
Since then, he's done a lot of other smaller jobs in other houses for me. Sometimes I'll need a new kitchen, or new bathroom or an attic conversion for example.
How did you choose Build Right?
Build Right were doing a house just off Orwell road in Foxrock. I was always stuck in traffic there so I'd see the van. I gave Lee a call and and he came out to me and went through everything.
I talked to the owner of that house in Orwell Road and Lee also gave me a reference from De La Salle College - he'd done work there in the sports center. I heard good things about him. One thing the other people said was that when the work was done, it was really done. I had got other work done before in another house, and finishing it was the problem. Basically, I was literally chasing them for months afterwards to finish up little things.
I got other quotes too and the quotes were in around the same as Build Right. But Lee was able to get started fairly soon as he was just finishing a job. That's what I wanted.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Lee O' Gorman?
I renovate different places and then rent them out. It's all about getting the houses back to a good standard and looking really good.
Did Lee introduce new ideas?
Yes, Lee has ideas too and we put them together.
How did the project run?
Good -there is no issues there. I've used Lee now for a good bit for different smaller things. Lee's there early and I know it's going to be done in a day. I also know it's going to be clean afterwards and that the workmanship will be good too.
The thing is that Lee will let me know if there are any issues. You're dealing directly with Lee and he's there on the site and he knows what's going on.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Build Right?
I know Build Right will do a good job. Lee is just really reliable and he hasn't let me down. Since that job, I would give him other things, and some things have been short notice. If he needs help, he pulls in extra people to get it done. It might cost extra but he gets it done. Because I'm in the rental business, I'm on a timeline to get things rented. With Lee, when it's done, everything's perfect. He know's the regulations and the fire officer can sign off on it, and the architects can sign off on it.
Would you recommend Build Right to others?
Yes, even though I don't want him to be too busy! I don't think anyone can have a bad experience with Lee. He is someone who takes pride in his work. I always spot it when other people take pride in their work and I spot it when people don't too.
