When was the work done?
The work was carried out in the summer of 2013. What was involved?
It was a large extension onto the back of the house. We got a dining area, bedroom and downstairs bathroom done as well.
How did you choose Christy McCabe Carpentry And Building?
Christy had done an extension for my sister-in-law and it was very good work so I asked him to quote. I got a couple of quotes and Christy's was the best.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Christy McCabe?
No, not really.
Did Christy introduce new ideas?
We got Christy on board and told him what we needed. He came up with the best way of doing it. It turned out brilliantly in the end. He suggested a porch on the side of the house as the well.
How did the project run?
It was brilliant. When they dug out the back garden, they found that it was slate under the ground so it was hard work. But they were there every day at time and worked until late in the evening. Christy does the work himself too. Anytime I was there, he was there himself too working.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Christy McCabe Carpentry And Building?
I'd say it was that Christy worked there, he didn't just have lads there. If you have problems, he's there on site and he knows how everything works. He doesn't have to be ringing lads to find out answers, he knows exactly what's going on. I'd be home from work and he'd still be there working away.
What's your favourite part now?
We have a nice dining room area where we have the telly and couches set up and we're in there constantly.
Would you recommend Christy McCabe Carpentry And Building to others?
I would, yes. I've recommended him to one of my neighbours who's planning to do some work.
Any tips for other people?
Just plan ahead because there is a lot of work in it and you have to be sure you have the right person.
