When was the work done?
The work was done in November, 2011. What was involved?
Our bathroom and our toilet were two separate rooms that we wanted joined together, so Alan took down an adjoining wall and we now have one big beautiful bathroom.
How did you choose Alan Doyle?
Word of mouth and recommendation. I knew about Alan because he had done work for my father in the past and a friend of his as well. You know yourself how word gets around. I had seen the standard of his work in my fathers house and I was happy enough going with Alan without getting quotes from anyone else.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Alan Doyle?
I wanted Alan to do something something similar to what he had done in my father's house but I was open to his ideas as well. Alan would have done hundreds of these types of jobs and it was great to have the input from a professional. The end product was very similar to what I had in mind but he tweaked it a bit and it turned out amazing.
Did Alan introduce new ideas?
Alan being the pro that he is, he came up with some great ideas. He put tiled shelving in the shower unit which I would have never thought of. It makes the room stand out really well but blends in. Sometimes when you put shelving into a room it takes up way too much valuable space but not in mine. The way Alan incorporated it into the shower unit and made it seem like one, came out amazing. Alan also recommended a heated towel rail which served a dual purpose; heating the towels obviously but also the bathroom as well. By doing so, Alan was able to remove an existing radiator which created extra space. Two for the price of one!
How did the project run?
It was really good and he was very professional. When it came to Alan doing the job, it put my mind at ease knowing that he had done good work for other people that I know. I also trusted him and had no qualms leaving my house with him there. Alan was able to complete the project earlier than expected which when you have two young kids running around looking for a bathroom is brilliant.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Alan Doyle?
The biggest benefit to me was that Alan did absolutely everything and I didn't have to go ringing others. The work wasn't just tiling either, there was plumbing, electrical and since a wall had to come down, building work as well.
What's your favourite part now?
The whole thing turned out just like we wanted it to.
Would you recommend Alan Doyle to others?
I would highly recommend Alan and I have done actually.
