When was the work done?
The work was done in February, 2008. What was involved?
I had purchased a brand new apartment in January, 2008 and I was experiencing an awful lot of noise from the apartment above mine; Footfalls, tv noise and voices. Before purchasing the apartment I had been led to believe through advertisements that these were the best soundproofed apartments around. It wasn't just me either, several of my neighbours were experiencing similar problems, so we put in a complaint to the local council to get them tested. The apartments were found to be within the requirements which just shows how weak the regulations are as far as sound quality is concerned. Dave soundproofed the sitting room, bedrooms and hall ceilings for me.
How did you choose Cunas?
I found out about Dave and what he does from the Pickapro.ie website. I chose Dave to do the work because he gave me a lot of his time over several meetings discussing what could be done and what the process would involve. I consider myself a good judge of character and one of the reasons why I chose Cunas was Dave's professionalism and manner. I got the impression that he would do a good job for me and as it turned out, I was right.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to David Fitzgerald?
I didn't know what needed to be done, I just wanted it done.
How did the project run?
Very good. Dave is reliable, thorough and really knows what he's doing. Dave is passionate about soundproofing and it shows in his work.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Cunas?
The soundproofing work has made a huge difference and I'm virtually hearing no noise anymore.
Would you recommend Cunas to others?
I would indeed and in fact have already done so.
Any tips for other people?
I would recommend that if you're going to get soundproofing done, move out while the work is being carried out. Stay with family, friends or go on holiday. With walls coming down and being upgraded, there's no getting around the fact that it's going to be dusty.
