About Us

We're a family run business that has been serving Portmarnock and the north Dublin region with a full upholstery, loose covers, furniture and interior service for over 22 years.

Directed by Anthony Byrne, an upholsterer with 40 years of experience and his brother Gerry, we've made customer service and quality fundamental to our business. It's the many years of experience and our in-house sales and decorating team of Linda Darbey (below) and Linda Gough that allows us to guarantee a top quality result every time.

We will bring all your furniture from chairs and suites to headboards and footstools back to life. You will be delighted with the quality of our upholstery. We can reupholster an entire item or simply "recondition" it, replacing wornout buttons, zips etc. You'll be amazed at the difference it could make.

Loose Covers

In addition to upholstery, we provide a competitive loose cover service.

Unusual or Non-standard Upholstery

We're always up for a challenge. If you need a custom item for home or work, talk to us. We make and upholster all types of furniture. For example, we've upholstered gym equipment, dental surgery chairs and beauty salon tables. In addition, we have carried out upholstery work in pubs and restaurants.

At Portmarnock Furnishings, you aren't limited to size of a particular style on the showroom floor. The same style can be altered to suit your needs at no additional charge. Our framemaker can make any sofa or chair higher, deeper, wider in a variety of styles at no additional charge.

This includes made to measure corner unit sofas for smaller apartments or unusual spaces, headboards

We also have a wide range of furniture on the shop floor available for purchase if it exactly meets the client's requirements.

Complete Curtain & Blind Service

We offer a complete curtain and blind service including measuring service and fitting service by our experienced fitter.

Extensive Range Of Fabrics

We have a huge range of fabrics to choose from as well as designer curtain poles. Ranges stocked include Sanderson, Designers Guild, Crowson, Romo Villa Nova, Luxaflex, Styleline and Textura wallpapers .

Full Measuring and Fitting Service

All callouts and quotations are free of charge. The service is provided by Gerry Byrne, who has over 20 years experience in this field
