Reupholstery In Home And Business

What was involved?
We have three kids under eight and some of our furniture needed to be rejuvenated. In fact, it involved two suites of furniture that needed to be reupholstered at different times. In both cases they came back like a new suites of furniture when they were finished. They were able to keep all the zips, buttons and cushions in perfect order, for half of the cost of going into a store and buying a new suite. Later, when one cushion needed to be restuffed because of use, they added foam to it and it was as good as new. In addition to the furniture, they've also put blinds into our bedrooms. I would just keep going back to them, they are so efficient.

On the business side, we asked them to re-cover dental chairs in our surgery. That was the first time they had ever done dental chairs but they were happy to take on a new challenge and really, they did a superb job, they’re like brand new. They’ve also reupholstered our waiting room chairs.

A neighbour recommended them to me. First I met Gerry, he’s very quick witted and really knows his business – he really delivers. Gerry was such a good representative coming out to see me that I called into the shop at another time to look at fabric and different things. They were always more than willing to give me the fabrics to take home. The whole experience has been terrific.

Did Portmarnock Furnishings introduce new ideas?
They have a vast array of fabrics and types but they were able to guide me through it and tell me what they thought would suit.

How did the project run?
Very well. Gerry who measures up is chatty and friendly – there’s a personal touch to the service they provide. They’re honest, efficient with their times and if they say you’ll have it in a week. you'll have it in a week.

Thinking about the dental chairs, the quality of the work was fantastic and they were quick. If I remember correctly they were able to do it over a long weekend for me. The timeliness was important so it wouldn't disrupt business. They were very obliging and aware of the fact that we needed the chair to do our work.

What was the biggest benefit to you of using Portmarnock Furnishings Ltd?
Replacing a suite of furniture is a big cost and using Portmarnock Furnishings probably saves me the guts of a thousand euro at any one time. I was conscious that we have 3 small children that are going to be hard on any new suite so they gave me a whole new lease of life on the one that we had.

Would you recommend Portmarnock Furnishings Ltd to others?
I have recommended them to many people and I will continue to do so. They are just pleasant to deal with and I would have absolutely no hesitation in using them again myself.
