Modern Mansion in Meath
MCD Construction, Dublin Reask Meath
This project was a full scale rebuild of an existing property near Ashbourne. The original 2.800 sq ft property was extended to 6,200 sq ft with only the original facade maintained. The build includes classic white marble tiled floors and a marble winding staircase. The house is very energy efficient - insulated to a high degree and has airtight membranes. There is a mixture of double and triple glazing windows and doors throughout the home. Two geothermal pumps provide underfloor heating to both floors of the house and hot water is supplemented by vacuum solar panels. There are three mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems that are controlled by wireless controllers.
The whole kitchen/living area can be opened up. Beside the kitchen is a den or playroom, and on the other side is the high-ceilinged sunroom with a stove and double doors out to the patio. There is one en-suite bedroom downstairs, while upstairs, off the atrium on the landing, are four more en suite bedrooms. , The detached garage has a gym and open-plan entertainment area.
