When was the work done?
It was completed in mid July of 2017. What was involved?
An attic conversion with a dormer extension - from start to finish. We put in a bedroom and a bathroom. It was a big job because it's a big space - 32 feet long. They did the banisters, flooring, everything. We wanted an extra bedroom for visitors coming for my sons wedding.
How did you choose Outwards and Upwards Building Solutions?
The builder we had originally booked to do the job had to cancel. So, with six weeks to go before the wedding, we had no builder! My son's brother-in-law is an electrician who does lots of Kieran’s electrical work and he put us in touch with Outwards and Upwards. Genuinely I just took to him when I met him. Kieran and his brother Damian are a team and they're both very nice. I was very happy with the quote too - it was very fair. And Kieran started straight away so not to let us down before the wedding.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Kieran?
We had some ideas. Kieran went through them with us and give us input as to what he thought would work best and what wouldn't.
Did Kieran introduce new ideas?
Yes, things I wouldn't even have thought about. Like using two doors with frosted glass in the attic space to keep your best natural light. And where to put the shower to get best space and privacy. When you see the finished thing you say now I know where he was coming from. We're 100% happy with how it turned out.
How did the project run?
If I were to mark them out of 10, I would give them a 12! They were here at 7:45 every single morning and they were gone no later than 5 o'clock. They barely stopped off to have something to eat. They were the cleanest builders I ever came across, dust sheets , dust mats, everything and they hoovered every evening. In the end, they finished about 3 days ahead of schedule.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Outwards and Upwards Building Solutions?
They were very competitive on price and their work is amazing. And they were more than helpful about the little things around the house- they fixed anything that needed fixing . Nothing was too much trouble for them. I couldn't fault them in any way shape or form.
Would you recommend Outwards and Upwards to others?
I would have no qualms in recommending them at all. You know where you are with them from start to finish. My next door neighbour now is looking into getting them for his attic. I just found them so trustworthy and so reliable. When they said they they were going to be here, they were here.
