Garden Room For Den and Storage

What was involved?
Peter built an outdoor garden room at the back of the garden for me. For all intents and purposes it was built to the same standard as an extension to the back of a house. I use half of it as a den for my two teenage sons and the other half is used as a shed. It has double patio doors in the middle and a window each side.

How did you choose Swords Building Contractors Ltd?
I had been ready to use a builder who had done my extension but he was busy, so I got quotes from three other builders. A friend of mine who had used Peter before and was happy with the work recommended Peter to me. I chose Peter not only because of the recommendation but because his price was good and he made a lot of good suggestions.

Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Peter Ashmore?
I had ideas but after speaking to Peter realised that his suggestions were improving on my original plan.

Did Peter introduce new ideas?
He did, yes. It was Peter who suggested that since I was going to be looking out on the garden room from the kitchen window, to do a decorative finish on it. I chose a stone cladding and it's lovely. Peter also recommended a slanted, tiled roof instead of the flat roof I had originally planned for because it would give me more height inside.

How did the project run?
Very well. Peter and the guys working with him were here early in the morning when they said they would be here, did the work and didn't disappear like others in the past had done. We had some very bad weather at one point of the project so they worked on another job for me. They did some work on a patio area outside the extension. Everything ran perfectly to schedule, they brought their own skip, removed all the rubbish and left the place spotless. To be honest, everything was just as Peter said it would be.

What was the biggest benefit to you of using Swords Building Contractors Ltd?
Aside from the workmanship I would have to say the cleanliness. Peter was very organised, and clean and that makes a big difference.

What's your favourite part now?
Probably the cladding on the front of the Garden room. Everyone who comes to the house says that it looks so nice. The finish and the aesthetics of it are lovely.

Would you recommend Swords Building Contractors Ltd to others?
I was thrilled with the recommendation that I had received about Peter and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone else.

Any tips for other people?
Think about the types of work you want done on your house and what would be the best order to do them in. Try to do the jobs in the right sequence so that one doesn't impact negatively on the others. Also make sure that your neighbours know that you're going to have work done so that they're not surprised or inconvenienced.
