When was the work done?
The work was done in November, 2011. What was involved?
It was basically converting an old bathroom into two. One was a family bathroom and the other was a walk in wetroom like you would see in a hotel.
How did you choose Clancon Build?
I heard about Anthony by word of mouth from a girl I work with. Anthony had done some work for her and she recommended him. In the past I hadn't had good experiences with builders. I had work done on the house two years ago and afterwards I said never again would I let another builder into the house. The girl I work with said try Anthony, he's good and I'm glad I did. I was actually considering doing the work myself.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Anthony Clancy?
I had rough plans of what I wanted, spoke to Anthony about them and he gave me positive feedback and ideas as well. I knew then that this guy was interested in what he was doing. Where most builders I've had dealings with would say, "no I can't do this, can't do that", with Anthony it was like "I don't see a problem in doing that".
Did Anthony introduce new ideas?
Definitely yes, especially with regards to finding more space and maximising it.
How did the project run?
It was great and the scheduling was good as well. I met Anthony on a Tuesday and he started work the following Monday. Some guys would have put the project off until the following month. Everything went to plan, the job itself took about four weeks and the workmanship was second to none. Anthony was so conscientious every step of the way. He kept us informed of what was going on and basically held our hand throughout the project. The peace of mind Anthony gave us was very important because of our experiences in the past. In the past I've just gotten rid of people and finished the job myself. This project was different, all the t's were crossed and the i's dotted, it just went so smooth.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Clancon Build?
The biggest benefit was the fact that I didn't have to worry about these guys. I never wondered while I was at work if the guys were working or disappearing for half the day and going off to other jobs. Anthony was on site all the time working and for the first time in my experiences, I trusted the work to be done right and it was. I didn't have to do a thing.
What's your favourite part now?
The whole lot. I really like how the whole bath-wetroom came out and it fulfilled all of the rquirements I had. I travel quite a bit and I get to stay in nice hotels so I had a particular idea of the type of bathroom I wanted.
Would you recommend Clancon Build to others?
I would, yes.
Any tips for other people?
Have your ideas but sit down and talk to the builder about those ideas so that they have a clear vision of what you want. At the end of the day, communication is the main thing.
