It was a complete renovation of my house in Lucan. The layout of the first floor was changed, all of the floors were redone, a new bathroom was installed and another was refurbished. The house was replumbed, rewired, painted and insulated to a B1 standard. A 20 square metre extension was also added to the back of the house.
I wanted to find a local builder so I googled builders in Lucan. I found Pat on the Pickapro website but also spoke to several other builders as well. I liked what I saw of Pat's reviews,met with him and we talked about the job. Of all the builders I spoke to, Pat was the most professional. He was super responsive, answered all of my questions and texts and even provided the best quote. Another benefit was that he could begin work the soonest. Choosing Pat was a no brainer.
I did have ideas and also 3 D designs done before meeting Pat.
Pat did have a lot of good ideas and ways of doing things better in a practical sense. With my ideas and his it was more a collaboration. Pat didn't want to cut corners and do a cheap job, he wanted to do a good job. That's what really made the difference, I felt Pat was really looking out for my best interests.
Excellent, I couldn't be happier. The work started in late February and finished in May. Pat began the work right when he said he would and was finished within his quoted time frame. There was never any issues and nothing was ever a problem. Pat was very patient with me. I could ask questions and text him as much as I wanted and he always responded. Pat has a "can do" attitude and the team he was working with you could tell took pride in the quality of their work. They even came in on a Saturday to get the job done, I was impressed with that. Pat had another job ready
to go after mine but wouldn't start it until mine was finished. Pat only works 1 project at a time so that he can focus all of his attention on doing a good job. Every bit of building progress was documented and Pat would send me updated pictures. I liked that.
All of it. The whole extension is amazing but I'm really happy with all of the work that was carried out.
The biggest benefit was the quality of the workmanship. Two independent groups told me that the work was very good. I had people in to do the kitchen and they told me that the builder was excellent. I also have a friend who is an architect come in to have a look at the house and he said the same. That was very reassuring and nice to hear.
Definitely and in fact, I already have. Personally if I need building work done in the future, I won't deal with anyone but Pat. It's really important when getting work done to do your due diligence because not all builders are the same. Pat's not only an excellent builder but a really nice guy.
