When was the work done?
In 2017. What was involved?
Pat converted the garage into an additional, multi-functional room, He also did some interior renovations, insulated the attic and renovated the porch.
How did you choose O' Flaherty Construction?
Pat was one of the builders recommended by the architect. In the end, it was down to Pat and another builder. We went with Pat because I found him open to suggestion and ideas. He also seemed professional and was priced right.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Pat O' Flaherty?
Yes, we had an architect and we had plans.
Did Pat introduce new ideas?
Yes, he did. Between speaking to him and the architect we tweaked a few things. For example, he had very good ideas for the porch area, which nobody had thought of, so I was impressed with that. The porch area was very problematic - restricted spacewise but we couldn't really add to it because of the overall house design. Pat came up with a really simple solution which opened up the whole porch area and brought in a huge amount of light.
How did the project run?
Yes, we had no problems. Pat was here every morning on time which was important to me. We lived in the house while the work was going on so inevitably there was a lot of dust but Pat was very tidy. There were a couple of small finishing things at the end which he took on board and resolved. We've had absolutely no issues with anything since.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using O' Flaherty Construction?
I felt he was quite flexible. He had to work around us because we were living in the house so he was quite obliging and patient - very important in a builder! Pat had a sense of humor and a nice manner. He worked very well with the architect too which is important.
Would you recommend O' Flaherty Construction to others?
Yes, I would.
