In an old house like ours there were always new things we had to fix and Pawel was happy doing those.
In an old house like ours there were always new things we had to fix and Pawel was happy doing those.
What was involved?
It was a complete refurbishment involving kitchen renovation, taking down our utility room and building a new utility room, insulation and tiling, passive vents installation, dry walling, plaster and paint. We also got two new back doors and kitchen cabinets installed by PKBuilders.
How did you choose PKBuilder?
We got a bit of work done last year and still had a few things left to do. So I did a bit of research and reached out to Pawel. I found his details on pickapro.. As it turned out someone known to me had got work done previously with him and had good reviews of the their work.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Pawel Korytkowski?
Yes. I had details of what we wanted.
Did Pawel introduce new ideas?
Yes he did.He gave a few good ideas on paints to use and we were pleased with his inputs. Then he also introduced new ideas in the utility room finish and layout. The end result was a stunning utility /kitchen extension.
How did the project run?
Well. Yes got the work finished on time and they cleaned up every day. Doors got delayed by suppliers and we had to wait for the doors but that was more down to the supplier of the doors else we could have finished before time. They always start very early and plan the work. It saved me time running around.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using PKBuilder?
He didn't say no to anything and agreed to do additional work. In an old house like ours there were always new things we had to fix and he was happy doing those. He detected a small leak in a rad pipe and fixed it.
The bits we don't see in any building work matter to me and I thought that he was very approachable and always answered the phone when we had to discuss something or the other. My experience tells me that's builders can be otherwise hard to get over the phone unless they are 100% committed so that was good to see.
What's your favourite part now?
The utility room and the insulation. The BER rating actually jumped for from E to B3.
Would you recommend PKBuilder to others?
Yes.
Any tips for other people?
Lay out a plan and discuss with the builder in detail. Prioritize things that you have to do first and then do the rest. We tried doing things in our house which we don't have to do in another 10 years like insulation, plumbing, heating etc.
