In May 2019. What was involved?
A large, full width rear extension. PKBuilder also knocked an existing small annex extension and linked in a standalone outside apartment. The whole job took about 6 weeks.
How did you choose PKBuilder?
I found Pawel on pickapro.ie. I had read his testimonials and I was struck by the emphasis on his reliability and his good work. I did contact about three builders in all but I liked Pawel from the beginning because of his very professional approach. He turned up for the meeting exactly on time, measured up fully and looked through the architect's plans carefully. He said he'd be back by the weekend with a price and he was. He phoned me on Saturday, explained everything fully and emailed me the quotation. He was very professional, his price was better than anyone else and he managed to start sooner.
With Pawel, his word is his bond. If he says he's going to go something, he'll do it. He's very efficient.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Pawel Korytkowski?
Yes, I had architects' plans. Did Pawel introduce new ideas?
Yes. For example, the kitchen was moved to the other side of the house and I didn't have the budget for a new kitchen. Pawel said to leave it with him and he'd reconfigure the old kitchen. He managed to re-use the cabinets and added a new worktop and splashback. It looks perfect and he didn't charge me anything for it. Pawel will work with you and your budget. His skills are excellent and he is so helpful.
How did the project run?
I was very impressed. He always had a crew of about 2 or 3 lads there. They turned up every morning on time and they worked very hard. The quality of the finish is fantastic, really top notch. On top of that, they left everything spotless.
The architect was really impressed with the quality of all the work - roof, plastering, rendering, tiling. It's all really excellent.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using PKBuilder?
Pawel saved me a lot of time and a lot of money. He went over and above anything I could have expected. He's old school and he wants to do the job right and make sure that the customer is happy. He's all about doing a good job - quality first and money second.
Would you recommend PKBuilder to others?
Yes and without hesitation. Pawel will do a first class job for and he's reasonable pricewise. I worked as a gas fitter for 40 years so I appreciate Pawel's skill and his approach.
